Professional on line learning programmes (2009)

Professional learning is one of the natural niches of job opportunities for an educationalist. This special kind of Learning finds a perfect context in ICT, because the virtual environment allows workers from different fields to flexibly access learning programmes. There is flexibility in the timetable, as well as flexibility in the organization of contents and the level of depth of the programmes. This course is designed for working online. In consequence, the methodology is based on the compromise of students in autonomous learning. Continuous work, a good rhythm and level of reading to effectively understand the content of each topic is crucial to it. This course is based on a practical view of the general topic. The main objective of this is for students to successfully gain abilities which will enable them to design a proposal for a program of professional learning which could be effectively provided across the Internet.

REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDED PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

This course is organized in relation to other courses at this level. Consequently we understand the student who starts this course has to have sufficient previous knowledge to begin; knowledge about the basic use of Technologies, Technologies for Learning, and basic elements of learning planning, and so on. In addition, off target, basic competencies from Secondary education.

Nevertheless, there are no official requirements for this.

OBJECTIVES: KNOWLEDGE AND ABBILITIES

1. Recognizing professional learning as a specialized field of learning.
2. Understanding the implications of didactics in professional learning contexts.
3. Learning to configure professional learning actions using Information and communication technologies as possibilities for enhancing them.
4. Acquiring  the skills to use specific tools for this learning context.
5. Knowing how to establish criteria and instruments of evaluation for e-learning actions in professional environments.
